SK Originale

BACKGROUND – STARTING UP

Mawuli Kwaku Sokpo was born on the 22nd August 1984 in Lomé–Togo where he enrolled at Saint Augustin D‟Armoutieve Junior Secondary School. Formerly known as SK Blinks; SK Originale as he is popularly known, discovered his talent at an early age when he started singing at churches and at various social functions. This display of unique talent at such a tender age was as a result of his family’s distinctive godly gift of singing. His dream of securing a better future through education was quashed when his parents had to relocate to Ghana due to financial difficulties. The assurances from his father that he would further his education in Ghana also could not materialize due to circumstances

beyond his father's control. SK ORIGINALE was compelled to venture into trading in order to save some money to further his education himself. Even with the zeal to pursue a musical career, life challenges constrained him to learn carpentry; yet he never lost hope to pursue hiseducation in the future.



THE BOLD STEP

The journey to a successful musical career has not been easy, currently signed unto Bakus Entertainment; SK Originale has seen it all from an underground artist to mainstream artist. His dream of being a musician started when he meta friend who was an underground artist in 2000. With the determination to be an astute professional musician, SK Originale approached this friend who agreed to help him get beats from a sound engineer also accepted to sell three beats to him; SK Originale at a friendly amount which he still had to toilto pay. After the release of the song which had a good public reception, the opportunity for S.K Originale to shoot into the limelight was ripped as he performed on various stages some of which he fixed himself as a professional carpenter.He; SK Originale is truly an artiste with an ardent passion. SK ORIGINALE, popularly known for his line;''il n‟y a pas son deux'' (there is no other SK Originale like him) has taken the bold step to sell the African Culture and Way of Dressing to the western world. He delights in the glory of inspiring himself by playing his acoustic guitar, which he loves to call; "My Lady".

SK Originale has since released two hit-singles; "CaVaAller" (It shall be well) in October 2012 and "Celebration" (Yereseimu) in January 2013 under the new label; Bakus Entertainment based in the U.S.A. with a subsidiary in Ghana. Both songs are receiving massive airplay in Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Benin, France, United Kingdom, United States and other parts of Africa.
